The internet has allowed for quicker than ever expansion of ideas. The growth and momentum so big that will kill Tv like it killed radio. The freedom to express yourself and opinions one has created a strong internet culture. It has empowered the voiceless but as time went by this began to change and having a different idea than the majority can be dangerous for ones internet presence. Though the internet is relatively new I wonder if the culture becomes more tolerant and mature.
I believe that copyright has worked the majority of the time. Loopholes have allowed people have videos removed that had nothing wrong with them. Though this problem mainly pertains to Youtube as they rely to much on computers to determine if a video is fair use. This can be an issue for people that rely on the income from these videos. If I were to be objective the use of copyright has been appropriate but the execution by websites and apps make things hard to protect. They need more real people to monitor what is appropriate as computers have had things slip by and aren’t ready.
I chose to have my image to be a public domain as I do not plan to profit from the image. As most images aren’t mine, I would not mine if some chooses to use it or remix it.
Every year my computer fills up with images that I would normally not use personally, but assignments of my classes which include Art 110. I was going to delete these images but then I though about mixing them together. By doing so I will be able to represent everything new I learned and experienced these past 2 semesters. The image of Batman was the source image because it was the only image I did not understand why I had and I thought It would make the best wallpaper. I really like this project as I was able to acknowledge the use of these images that represent a part of my classes not just deleting them because they take up space on my computer.
